BSCI
倡议商界遵守社会责任组织。

儿童
任何年龄低于15周岁的人,若当地法律所规定最低工作年龄或强制教育年龄高于15据国际劳工组织第周岁,则以较高年龄为准。如果根138号公约对发展中国家的例外规定,当地法律规定最低工作年龄为十四周岁,则以较低年龄为准。

行为守则
一套针对公司道德行为的标准、规定或者准则。对于BSCI而言,即BSCI行为守则。

公司
任何负责落实于行为守则的组织或企业的整体,包括所有员工(不论是直接聘用、合同制聘用或以其它形式代表公司的BSCI而言,公司指是需要接受审核的商业实体。

公司设备
指公司拥有的生产设施,不论是公司合法拥有或其本身具有合法身份。

投诉
被指控没有遵守BSCI行为守则规定的一个或多个法律要求或劳工标准;或没有遵守BSCI个程序。体系说明中规定的一个或多个程序。

遵守
指按照或者符合BSCI行为守则。

纠正行动
为了消除造成现存不符合或偏离BSCI行为守则中所规定的要求的原因,以及防止再次出现而采取的措施。

纠正行动计划(CAP)
BSCI的纠正行动计划在每次社会责任审核结束的时候制定出来,写明在限定的时间内里采取什么措施来补救不符合BSCI行为守则规定中的要求。

文件证据
以硬拷贝文本或电子文本形式有系统地、清晰易懂地、正确描述必要数据和资料。

员工
所有为公司工作的人员,不论其职务、是直接聘用、合同制聘用或以其它形式代表公司。

FTA
设于布鲁塞尔的对外贸易协会。

实施
BSCI的实施,涉及到公司付诸实行的一连串具体措施,以及他们为了使公司符合BSCI行为守则而采取的方法。

内部监控
公司本身为核实BSCI方、根据行为守则在公司内已经予以实施并能持续遵守而采取的程序和行动。它包括培训员工、通知买BSCI行为守则的要求进行审核,并在违反BSCI行为则的情况下制定适当的纠正措施。

劳工标准
BSCI的劳工标准是指BSCI行为守则和准则,也是在同一应用范围内的法定规则。

最低生活工资

管理体系

NGO
非政府组织。

SA8000
社会责任标准SA8000。国际上适用的劳工和社会责任标准(www.sa-intl.org)。

高级管理人员
以最高行政级别代表、经营或者管理一个组织的个人或者群体。

社会责任国际组织(SAI)
SA8000标准的制定者。

社会责任审核
对于BSCI而言,社会审核指的是,由SAI鉴定为合格并独立于受审核商业实体的公司根据BSCI的行为。社会责任审核可能就一次初次审核(首次社会责任审核)及行为守则,检查公司/计划— 或一次社会责任重新审核(落实检查纠正行动CAP)。

社会责任审核报告
与BSCI行为守则相关的公司行为的文件,例如社会责任审核和/或重新审核报告。

利益相关方
受到公司活动及/或运作影响者。

法定最低工资
法律所规定的最低工资;如果适用,这也可以是更高的行业工资及/或通过劳资双方谈判就工资问题达成的更高工资。

合法规章
国家的合法规章,包括通过行业及/或劳资双方谈判方式制定的契约性规定。

分包商
公司指定用来实现全部或部分装配程序的增值过程的商业实体。

供应商/分供应商
公司价值链中的实体。向公司提供上游产品或服务(例如:原材料供应商、成分供应商、半成品供应商等)。

工会
对于BSCI而言,工会就是一个组织,员工就是它的成员。其主要任务是体现员工的权利,包括集体谈判权。

未成年员工
任何超过规定童工年龄但低于18周岁的员工。

Glossary
Accreditation
Official authorization or approval by a body considered legitimate for the purposes of the BSCI.
Auditing companies must be accredited by SAI.
Audit
Please refer to Social Audit.
Auditors
Auditors for the purposes of the BSCI are the experts of SAI accredited auditing companies.
They must satisfy high quality criteria and meet the requirements of ISO/IEC Guide 62 and
SAI Guideline I.
BSCI
Business Social Compliance Initiative
Child
Any person less than 15 years of age, unless local minimum age law stipulates a higher age for work
or mandatory schooling, in which case the higher age applies. If however local minimum
age for work is set at 14 years of age in accordance with developing-country exceptions under
ILO Convention 138, the lower age will apply.
Certification
Attestation that a company meets a specified standard. For the purposes of the BSCI Certification
means certification as per standards recognized by BSCI as Best Practice such as SA8000. In the BSCI
system the certification is voluntary for the company.
Code of Conduct
A set of standards, rules or guidelines for ethical behaviour of the company. For the purposes of the
BSCI it is the BSCI Code of Conduct.
Company
The entirety of any organization or business entity responsible for implementing the Code of Conduct
including all personnel, whether directly employed, contracted or otherwise representing the company.
Company for the purposes of the BSCI is the business entity to be audited.
Company’s own unit
Own production facility of the company whether legally depending or having its own legal identity.
Complaint
Allegation that one or more legal requirement or labour standards defined in the BSCI Code of
Conduct or procedures defined in the BSCI System Description are not being respected.
Compliance
To be in accordance or conformity with the BSCI Code of Conduct.
Corrective Action
Measures to be taken to eliminate the cause(s) of an existing non-conformance or other deviation
from the requirements defined in the BSCI Code of Conduct and to prevent re-occurance.
Corrective Action Plan (CAP)

For the purposes of the BSCI the plan of action which is to be drawn up at the end of a social audit,
recording what measures have to be taken within what time limit to remedy a non-compliance with
the BSCI Code of Conduct.
Documentation
A systematic, understandable and proper description of necessary data and information in hardcopy or
electronic form.
Employees
All persons working for a company independent of their function, whether directly employed,
contracted or otherwise representing the company.

Implementation
For the purposes of the BSCI implementation refers to the range of concrete measures that a
company puts into practice or the instruments they provide to give practical effect to compliance with
the BSCI Code of Conduct.
Internal monitoring
Procedures and practices a company itself or those the company hires carry out to check that the
BSCI Code of Conduct has been implemented and is continuously observed at business entity. Such
efforts include training employees, informing buyers, auditing against the requirements of the BSCI
Code of Conduct, and establishing appropriate measures in cases of violation of the BSCI Code of
Conduct.
Labour Standards
For the purposes of the BSCI Labour Standards are rules and principles of the BSCI Code of Conduct
and statutory norms with the same scope of application.
Living Wage
A wage that provides for basic needs (housing, energy, nutrition, clothing, health care, education,
potable water, child care, transportation and savings), includes additional discretionary income and
takes into consideration dependents.
Management
Co-ordinated activities to establish and achieve defined objectives. The term management can also
refer to a person or group of persons with authority and responsibility to conduct and control a
company or business entity.
Management System
For the purposes of the BSCI a management system refers to all the organizational structures,
procedures, processes and means that are necessary for the proper implementation and continuous,
sustainable observance of the BSCI Code of Conduct.
NGO
Non-Governmental Organization.
SA8000
Social Accountability 8000. Internationally applicable labour and social standard (www.sa-intl.org)
Senior Management
Person, or group of persons representing, conducting or controlling an organization at the highest
executive level.
Social Accountability International (SAI)
Creator of the SA8000 Standard

Social Audit
For the purposes of the BSCI Social Audit means checking the company′s performance against the
BSCI Code of Conduct by SAI accredited auditing companies beeing independent of the business entity
to be audited. Social Audit can be an Initial Audit (first social audit) and/or a social Re-Audit
(implementation check of the Corrective Action Plan -CAP).
Social Audit Report
Documentation of a company′s performance in relation to the BSCI Code of Conduct as Social Audit
and/or Re-Audit Report
Stakeholder
Any party that is affected by the activity and/or operations of a company.
Statutory minimum wage
Legal minimum wage; if applicable this may also be a higher industrial wage and/or higher wage set
by collective bargaining.
Statutory regulations
National legal regulations including regulations contractually set by means of industrial and/ or
collective bargaining.
Subcontractor
Business entity with appointed by the company to carry out value adding process steps of the
assembling completely or partially .
Supplier/Sub supplier
Entity in the value chain of the company which supplies the company with upstream products or with
services (e.g. material supplier, supplier of constituents, supplier of semi-finished products).
Trade Union
For the purposes of the BSCI a Trade Union is an organization, that has employees as its members.
Its main task is representation of the employees rights including collective bargaining.
Young Worker
Any employee over the age of a child and under the age of 18.
